So I’m assuming you came to this page to find out exactly who this Jonelle Boyd is and what’s she all about? Well, let me formally introduce myself. My name is Jonelle Boyd, and I am a UI/UX Designer, born and raised in St. Louis, MO.
After graduating from McCluer North Senior High School, I spent 2 years at St. Louis Community College before transferring to Webster University, graduating 3 years later with a Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in Graphic Design and a minor in Web Site Development.
Although I originally started my career with being a graphic designer in mind, I have always loved web design, and my career immediately begin to shift in that direction with my first job out of college being a web designer for a small sales incentive company. Over the years, through self study, online classes, and of course, on the job experience, I became what we now know as a “UI/UX Designer".
Now, with over 10 years of experience in designing web content for internal and commercial clients, I’ve worked with a variety of companies, all with their own different areas of expertise (marketing… book publishing… financial services… etc.), ranging from large; global size companies to small; local ones. This diverse array of experience has given me the opportunity to develop my talents in many different of areas of design, enabling me to become a well-rounded, confident designer with the skills, knowledge and creativity needed to accomplish any job given!
So, now that I’ve filled you in on the career activity, you may be wondering, what do I like to do when I’m not working? While designing and coming up with solutions is my day job and most definitely a passion, I am also just as passionate about fitness & nutrition, becoming a CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) in 2013, after having my own weight loss journey of losing over 70lbs in 2009. When I’m not exercising or doing something physical, I’m traveling. I plan a trip outside of the USA to a place I’ve never been each year. This year was St. Lucia, 2020: London!
Last bit of information you may be interested in, after residing in St. Louis all 37 years of my life, I’m looking for a change and actively seeking opportunities outside of Missouri. (If in Missouri, I’d want to remote.)
